It's a small detail, but after hours of trying to get rid of it, it starts to get very annoying. I also tried installing a Stylish style to do the same thing and then put the settings at 0 seconds and 0 opacity in case it would override it and thus (in a way) disable it, but even with these settings I see the bar appearing for 2-3 seconds just like before, although much slimmer than before. I've tried installing different auto-hide add-ons, hoping they'd override it somehow, but it won't work. I also don't remember editing a script to do this. I know it's not an add-on, seeing as I have very few add-ons installed and I could not find anything related to this on my add-on manager. But whatever set-up I did overrides it and makes the bookmark tab appear for 2-3 seconds anyway. Now my browsing preferences have changed and I don't use the tab anymore, so I deleted all the bookmarks from the tab and tried to disable the whole tab from Firefox menu options. It was quite useful for its time, even if it bothered me that whenever it scrolled back up, whatever website I had open also moved a little and I'd miss whatever I was clicking at the moment. When I switched to FF4, I set up the option to auto-hide my bookmarks tab on Firefox after 2 or 3 seconds when mouse isn't on it anymore.
